Remembering Dale Regan

Yesterday, March 6th, the Episcopal community and the education community at large lost a great leader and inspirational individual. Dale Regan, the Head of School at the Episcopal School from 2006, was shot and killed in her office. We remember her today for her devotion to education and the Episcopal School and how many lives she touched because of her vision. I spent 4 of the most important, challenging, exciting years of my life at this school and never once did I think something this horrible could happen there. I am who I am today because of my time at Episcopal and if I was given the chance to do it all over again I would. Dale was the Head of School for my senior year, and although I did not know her well, I know she still had a huge impact on my life. She will certainly be missed and impossible to replace. Yet, in the end, I will never let something like this taint my view of Episcopal or all the wonderful memories I have there. Episcopal is, and forever will be, one of the greatest and safest schools in the world. Thank you Dale Regan for everything you were and still are. Because I knew you, I, and thousands of others, have been changed for good.

  1. I believe that you speak for many people who have some connection to Episcopal School or who may have known Dale Regan. It is a tragic loss.
